Stage 1 of the hybrid power station near Mount Magnet, Western Australia, involved the integration of gas thermal generation, diesel thermal generation, solar PV and BESS infrastructure. The development included both relocated equipment from an existing WA power station and new generating assets to be installed on site. EMtek’s scope focused on the detailed mechanical and piping design required to integrate the new equipment into the Stage 1 facility, verify interfaces with relocated infrastructure, and support the overall hybrid power station layout and compliance requirements.
EMtek delivered a coordinated mechanical and piping design package for Stage 1 of the hybrid power station, including management, design reviews, client coordination and interfacing with the electrical and controls consultant. The scope included detailed design of gas, bulk fluids, air and diesel pipework; overall layout modelling and general arrangement drawings; participation in Safety in Design and HAZID/HAZOP processes; Type B gas appliance submission support; air compressor datasheet development; and updates to existing gas thermal P&IDs for the new equipment.
Key deliverables included piping calculations, isometric drawings, bill of materials, gasket and bolt details, testing requirements, compliance documentation and a 3D Navisworks model.
