 ## Our Commitment

EMtek is a multidisciplinary consultancy team whose people have built an impressive reputation over many years across all facets of industry. Our goal is to change the economics of industry by using holistic, high-quality and collaborative multidisciplinary professional services that deliver high-value, low-cost solutions for our clients without compromising Health, Safety or the Environment.

EMtek acknowledges and respects Australia’s Indigenous people as the first occupiers of Australia, recognising their cultural characteristics, spiritual traditions, stories and unique connections to land and sea. EMtek actively takes steps to help achieve Indigenous equality and to build positive relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

Additionally, one part of this commitment is engagement with young Indigenous Australians. EMtek is determined to establish and manage a successful First Nations people program in partnership with The University of Western Australia (UWA), supporting First Nations students in pursuing higher education and careers in STEM fields. EMtek is currently engaged with UWA and has created an Indigenous Scholarship for university students undertaking an Engineering Degree or similar STEM Degree in Western Australia, for the duration of their studies up to five years.

### Our Approach:

- Working with our staff and clients to achieve strong relationships with Indigenous Australians and, where possible, encouraging involvement in our projects.
- Encouraging Indigenous personnel to apply for advertised positions within EMtek.
- Working with integrity to actively eliminate racism in the workplace.
- Ensuring that relationships with Indigenous Australians are based on equality, respect, trust, honesty and openness.

 

 

 

 

 

 ## Our Indigenous Engagement Plan

EMtek is committed to fostering positive relationships and collaboration with Indigenous communities and companies. Our Indigenous Engagement Plan acts as a guideline and outlines our approach to respectfully engage, consult and collaborate with Indigenous people while undertaking projects that may impact their lands, resources, cultures and communities.

Our strategy aims to promote mutual understanding, trust and sustainable development, while supporting practical pathways for First Nations people to access education, employment and long-term career opportunities in engineering and related STEM fields.
