BN001 Feasability Study Main 1

ROM Bin Feasibility Study

  • Client: Newmont Corporation
  • Location: Papua New Guinea
  • Date: 2020

Project Scope

The existing 2017 installed ROM bin was originally designed for rear loading with smaller haulage trucks. With an increase in haul truck size and capacity, the dump point was changed to the side of the existing ROM bin installed from 1997. This result was impacting on the opposite side of the bin. EMtek completed a pre-feasibility study to assess replacement options and mitigate existing problems, which lead to EMtek’s engineering requirements progressing the project to the feasibility/detailed engineering and design stage. To assist with fast tracking the project execution with Newmont, EMtek was also engaged to immediately complete the detailed design documentation.

Major Work Inclusions

  • Basis of study document for feasibility stage engineering.
  • Feasibility level 3D model of the works.
