  ### Project Scope

Known as one of the world’s largest gold mining companies, [Newmont](https://www.newmont.com/home/default.aspx) engaged EMtek to improve the performance of their crushing and milling circuits at the Lihir Gold Mine site located in Papua New Guinea. The Lihir Gold Mine ore production is predominantly refractory and uses pressure oxidation before gold is recovered by a conventional leach process. To facilitate this process, EMtek’s materials handling specialists attended workshops both in Australia and onsite to assist with the development of practical plans to improve the performance of Newcrest's conveyor optimisation.

 

### Major Work Inclusions

- Local workshop attendance.
- Mine site attendance to inspect current operating performance.
