Project Scope
Due to excessive metal through primary crushers, Australia's largest ASX listed gold producer, Newmont requested EMtek to review the current magnet setup due to high amounts of downtime in the system from metal detectors. EMtek found that the current magnet setup at the head ends of discharge conveyors were ineffective. EMtek completed detailed engineering and design for the new fixed magnets and metal detectors to increase the efficiency of the metal being extracted. Separate metal detectors were also installed, so if metal did pass the magnet, only the affected line would be shut down, leaving the other in operation while the metal was cleared.
