Acoustic Box Blower Building Main 1

Acoustic Box Blower Building

  • Client: Kirkland Lake Gold
  • Location: Bendigo, Victoria
  • Date: 2020

Project Scope

When Fosterville Gold Mine needed to mitigate acoustic emissions due to their expanded operations, new facilities and equipment becoming available online, the EMtek team was there to support their team. These factors presented a risk that the noise levels emitted from the site could potentially exceed agreed levels. The BIOX air blowers were identified as one of the main contributors to the site’s noise emission profile. The scope for this project included an EPC contract for the design, supply, construction and commissioning of an Acoustic BIOX Blower Building to reduce the noise emissions on site.

Major Work Inclusions

  • Design, engineering and project management of the Biox Blower Acoustic Enclosure.
  • Procurement of all required components for construction.
  • Construction and commissioning of the acoustic enclosure.
  • Specific inclusions included building permits and documentation, removable roof sections for maintenance access, ventilation through acoustic louvres, maintenance monorails above heat exchangers, concrete slab, all lighting and emergency lights, air and heater outlets and air conditioning ducted over blower motors.
