 Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design electrical systems for various projects.  Not just tracing, electrical design from scratch.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality designs.
  • Prepare detailed technical electrical drawings and documentation.
  • Utilise advanced design software and tools using Bentley OpenBuildings Designer
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior designers.
  • Maintain project schedules and meet deadlines.

 Skills and experience

 To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Designer in an engineering consultancy or major projects within Australia.
  • 8-10+ years of relevant electrical design experience.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software (requires experience in Bentley OpenBuildings Designer, Bentley Microstation)
  • Expert Knowledge of Electrical systems for Electrical Design, including LV, HV (up to including 220kV ideally) Earthing, Cable Ladders, UG Cabling, MCC’s, VSD’s, Transformers, Control Systems, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Vendor Electrical Equipment, Communication Systems etc, to produce detailed SLD’s, Schematics, Terminations, General Arrangements, Block Diagrams
  • Advantageous to have Electrical 3D design experience, including Cable routing above and below ground, 3D electrical equipment placement and bracketry.
  • Excellent computer skills including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience across a range of commodities, including gold, copper, lithium and iron ore, is favourable
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, be thorough, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Capability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Right to work in Australia and with the relevant Australian experience (tertiary education, university, or other, including industry skills and background for the role.
