 Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical and controls engineering, taking designs from concept, into detailed IFC engineering deliverables.
  • Prepare Electrical and instrumentation designs and calculations in accordance with relevant Client and Australian Standards
  • Control System software design including PLC and SCADA
  • Industrial Communication System Design, and Sound knowledge of IP Networks
  • Sound Knowledge of Programming Languages (C, C++, .NET, Python, etc.)
  • Configuration and Commissioning of Electrical (protection devices, VSD's, Instrumentation) and Control Systems
  • Management and ownership of electrical design projects
  • Prepare technical engineering documents as part of overall project engineering deliverables
  • Providing technical review and advice to a growing team of electrical/controls engineers and to the wider EMtek team.
  • Support and collaborate with other disciplines and designers to develop designs for a wide range of plant and infrastructure.
  • Occasional visits to client sites as required
  • Maintain a safety focus through all aspects of work

About you

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a passion for discovery and a commitment to workplace wellbeing and safety. As part of a small, tight-knit team, strong relationship building, and communication skills will be critical in this role.

 Skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • 6+ years of multidiscipline Engineering experience in the mining and resources sector within Australia.
  • Proven experience as a design electrical engineer (LV, HV, VSD’s, Instrumentation etc) able to produce calculations and design documentation 
  • Practical experience working in construction, commissioning and/or operations in the bulk materials and minerals processing industries
  • Exposure to and knowledge of Control Systems in SCADA, PLC and RTU Platforms.
  • Good presentation and communication skills at all levels.
  • Awareness and collaboration across multiple disciplines, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process controls
